Delete your data
You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. This page tells you exactly how to ask, what we need from you, and what happens next.
The short version
Email hello@yourpropertypilot.com with the subject Data deletion request. Tell us the email address or phone number you used with us. We answer within 30 days, and it costs nothing.

1. How to make the request
Email hello@yourpropertypilot.com and put Data deletion request in the subject line. In the message, tell us:
- your name;
- the email address or phone number you used when you dealt with us, because that is how we find your records;
- if you enquired about a property, the property address or the agency name, if you remember it;
- whether you want everything deleted, or only a particular thing, such as a call recording.
You do not need to give a reason, you do not need an account, and there is no form to fill in. If you would rather write to us, the postal address is at the bottom of this page.
2. What we do first
We check that the request really comes from you. Deleting one person’s records because somebody else asked would be its own privacy failure, so we may ask you to confirm something only you would know, or to reply from the address the records are held under. We keep this as light as we reasonably can.
3. How long it takes
We acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days. If it is going to take longer, we will tell you why and give you a date. There is no charge.
When we delete information we remove it from our live systems. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on the normal backup cycle rather than being individually erased, and are not used for anything in the meantime.
4. Which records we are talking about
Three different situations bring people to this page, and the answer is slightly different for each. Find yours below.
You asked us for a demo, or contacted us
These are our own records and we can delete them outright. That covers your demo request, the emails between us, and any notes we made. See our Privacy Policy for what we hold and why.
You enquired about a property
If you enquired through a listing page or spoke to the assistant that answered a listing number, we hold that enquiry on behalf of the real estate agency, not for ourselves. We will delete our copy, including the conversation and any call recording or transcript.
The agency usually keeps its own copy in its CRM, and we cannot delete that one. Tell us if you want the agency’s copy gone too and we will pass your request on, but the agency decides that, not us. You can also go to the agency directly, which is faster. See Property Enquiry Privacy.
You work at an agency that uses our service
If the information is part of the service we run for your agency, we may need to refer your request to the agency, because it is the agency’s data. We will tell you when we do that and who it went to.
5. If you only want the contact to stop
Deleting your record is not always what people actually want. If you simply want us to stop contacting you, that is quicker and you do not need this page:
- reply STOP to any text message;
- use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email;
- tell the assistant, on a call or in a message, that you do not want to be contacted again.
A request to stop applies across phone, text and email together. We keep a minimal record of the fact that you opted out, so that we do not contact you again by accident. That record exists only to honour your request.
6. When we cannot delete something
There are narrow cases where the law lets us, or requires us, to keep information after you have asked us to delete it. The realistic ones are:
- Tax and company records. If you were a paying customer, invoices and financial records have to be kept for seven years.
- A legal claim. If there is a live dispute or an investigation, we keep what relates to it until it is finished.
- Your opt-out record, as described in section 5.
If we refuse a request, in whole or in part, we will tell you which part and why. We will not quietly do less than you asked.
7. If you are not happy with our answer
Tell us first, at hello@yourpropertypilot.com. If we cannot sort it out, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. Complaining to us first does not cost you the right to go to them.
