Most lists of the best apps for real estate agents are American
The best apps for real estate agents depend on the job. Property data tools such as PriceFinder suit appraisal prep. Inspection sign-in apps suit open homes. A CRM suits follow-up. Agencies that want every listing marketed without briefing anyone suit a done-for-you service such as YourPropertyPilot. Most agencies need two or three tools, not ten. This page sorts eight options by what each one actually does.
Updated October 2026. Compared from what ranks on Google Australia for this search, plus each vendor’s own site.
The list
-
1. realestate.com.au app
A property search app for buyers and renters with saved searches, a home loan calculator and a way to contact the agent.
Best for: Agents who want to see how buyers search and save properties.
Watch: The app is built for consumers. Kolmeo says the agency dashboard is a separate product called Ignite.
-
2. PriceFinder
A property database with valuations, sales history, ownership details and auction results.
Best for: Agencies that prospect and prepare appraisals.
Watch: Pricing is not stated in the sources we reviewed.
-
3. RP Data Pro
A CoreLogic-owned data tool with sales history, ownership details, valuations and rental estimates.
Best for: Agents who track local market trends.
Watch: Pricing is not stated in the sources we reviewed.
-
4. Open House ID
Registers inspection visitors through a QR code instead of a paper sheet.
Best for: Agents who want a visitor list after every open home.
Watch: It captures visitors. It does not market the listing or answer enquiries.
-
5. Follow Up Boss
A CRM for nurturing and managing leads.
Best for: Agents who want one place to track follow-up.
Watch: It was reviewed on a US site. Nothing we read says how it works with Australian portals.
-
6. Canva
A general design tool for social posts and flyers.
Best for: Agents who like to design their own posts.
Watch: Someone has to build every post by hand.
-
7. YourPropertyPilot
Runs listing marketing from one listing and a budget, and answers enquiries at any hour.
Best for: Agencies with no marketing hire, where campaign quality varies between agents.
Watch: Luke Marshall at YourPropertyPilot says it is not a fit for agencies with an in-house social media team or customers who are not on social media.
-
8. Kolmeo
Apps for tenants, owners and property managers, with inspection booking and reports.
Best for: Property management departments.
Watch: It is not a sales marketing tool.
Where YourPropertyPilot fits
YourPropertyPilot sits in the marketing group next to Canva, because it does the same job without an agent opening a tool. It suits agencies with enough listings that campaign quality varies between their best and newest agents, and no marketing hire. Agencies with an in-house social team, or customers who are not on social media, should pick something else.
Why page one is mostly American
Search for the best apps for real estate agents and the first results lean American. HousingWire lists Zillow Premier Agent first. Reel-E builds its guide around US tools and NAR figures. Neither matches how an Australian agency lists, advertises or reports.
The Australian results are narrower. Plexit's list of eight apps is dated October 2018. Kolmeo's list covers renters, buyers and owners as well as agents. The realestate.com.au app is built for people searching for a home, not for the agent selling it.
That gap matters because an agent reading a US list may pay for a tool that was never built for Australian listing data.
This page sorts tools by the job they do. It names only products that appear on page one of the search, plus ours. Where a vendor does not state something, we say so.
Property data and appraisal prep
PriceFinder and RP Data Pro are the two Australian data tools on page one. Kolmeo describes PriceFinder as a database of sales history, valuations, ownership and contact details and auction results. It also lists automated CMAs and white-label reports.
Kolmeo says CoreLogic owns RP Data Pro. It covers sales history, ownership details, valuations and rental estimates, with reports on local market trends.
Agents use these before an appraisal to see what sold and when. Neither one markets a listing for you.
Ask each vendor for pricing and a trial. Run one real appraisal through the tool before you commit. A data tool earns its cost only if it saves research time on every appraisal.
Portals, open homes and follow-up
The realestate.com.au app has 5M+ downloads and a 4.8 rating on Google Play. It is a search app for buyers and renters. Kolmeo says the agency side is Ignite, a dashboard for campaign performance, listings and reports.
Open House ID registers visitors at an inspection through a QR code. That replaces the paper sign-in sheet and gives the agent a list to follow up. Plexit describes a similar app called Open Home Pro, which automates email follow-up after an open.
Follow Up Boss is a CRM that HousingWire rates as the best CRM app. It is written for US agents. Nothing on that page says how it works with Australian portals or CRMs. Check before you pay.
Property management has its own tools. Kolmeo has apps for tenants, owners and property managers, including inspection booking and reports sent from the app. If your agency has a rent roll, ask your property managers which tool they already use before you add another.
Content and social tools
Canva is the tool HousingWire names for graphic design. CapCut is its pick for editing social videos. Later and Hootsuite schedule posts across platforms. All four are general tools that work anywhere.
They share one limit: someone has to open them, make the post and press publish. A scheduler holds content but does not write it. For an agent with six live listings, that is a lot of weekly work.
Reel-E, which ranks on page one, makes listing videos from photos. Its guide is written for US agents.
Canva suits an agent who likes design and has a spare hour. It does not suit an agency that wants consistent output from every agent. Consistency needs a template and someone to enforce and check it.
Where YourPropertyPilot fits
YourPropertyPilot is a done-for-you service more than an app. An agent lists a property and sets a budget. The platform then produces paid ads, a property landing page, a video from the listing photos and social posts. Enquiries are answered by AI at any hour and written back into the agency's CRM.
Luke Marshall at YourPropertyPilot says: "Your property pilot is not a fit if your customers aren't on social media." He also says it is not a fit for an agency with an in-house social media team, or for an agency that is comfortable with the enquiries it already gets and does not believe in marketing.
Luke leads growth at YourPropertyPilot. He worked at Google APAC and helped launch YouTube across South-East Asia. He was a client partner at Facebook and launched Australia's first Instagram advertising campaigns. He has spent over a decade working with startups. That is his background. It is not an endorsement by any of those companies, and YourPropertyPilot has not won any awards yet.
Pricing is based on usage of text, calls, email and video generation. Any price quoted to you will be + GST.
How to choose for your agency
Start with the job that costs you the most. If you lose time on appraisal research, buy data. If open home follow-up is slow, buy a sign-in app. If every listing needs a campaign and nobody has time to brief it, look at done-for-you marketing.
Reel-E advises picking three to five tools and learning them well. That is a sound limit. Each extra tool needs someone to log in, learn it and keep it current.
Ask three questions of any app: who has to open it each week, whether it connects to your CRM and portal feeds, and what the vendor states about pricing and contract terms. If the site does not say, ask before you sign.
Agencies with a marketing team can run Canva, a scheduler and a CRM without help. Agencies without one should ask who will do the content work each week.
Questions agents ask
What are the best apps for real estate agents in Australia?
It depends on the job. PriceFinder and RP Data Pro suit property data and appraisal prep. Open House ID suits inspection registration. The realestate.com.au app and its Ignite dashboard suit portal campaign tracking. Canva suits agents who design their own posts. YourPropertyPilot suits agencies that want listing marketing done for them.
Are American real estate apps worth using in Australia?
Some are. Canva and CapCut work anywhere. Tools built around MLS data, such as Zillow Premier Agent, are built for the US market. Check whether a CRM like Follow Up Boss connects to your portal feeds and your agency's systems before you pay. Ask the vendor if the site does not say.
Is realestate.com.au an app for agents?
Its app is built for buyers and renters. The Google Play listing covers property search, saved searches, a home loan calculator and a way to contact an agent. For agencies, Kolmeo says realestate.com.au offers Ignite, a dashboard for campaign performance, listings and reports.
How many apps should an agency use?
Reel-E suggests agents pick three to five tools that fit their workflow. That is a sensible limit. Each extra app needs someone to log in, learn it and keep it updated. Start with the job that costs you most, such as slow follow-up or inconsistent listing marketing, and pick one tool for it.
